The Role: What to expect
Role Responsibilities: What you will do
- Develop and optimize Real-Time Pickup and Delivery Task Scheduling, Multi-Robot Coordination, and other essential components of our Fleet Management System.
- Design optimization models for heterogeneous fleets of robots in varying operational contexts including manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics, while adapting them as new customer challenges arise.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of internal tools used by teams across the company.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality features on schedule.
- Demonstrate autonomy in managing your own work, and take strategic initiatives to improve the product.
Role Requirements: What you need to succeed
Essential Qualifications:
- You can model a scheduling or routing problem, choose sensibly between exact and heuristic approaches, and explain the tradeoffs behind your decisions.
- Proficient in Python, C++, Rust or similar programming languages.
- Practical knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux.
- Hands-on with a solver or optimization framework: Google OR-Tools, Gurobi, Timefold, or similar.
- Comfortable working asynchronously within a distributed team.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with real-time, multi-robot, or vehicle-routing / pickup-and-delivery problems.
- Familiarity with our stack: Rust, Java, Python, Redis, RabbitMQ, AWS.
- Published or applied research in Operations Research, multi-robot coordination, or related areas.
- A habit of following new OR and ML approaches, paired with the judgment to know when they're actually worth adopting.
